About this collection
The shirts that make the photo. Matching family shirts for reunions, holidays, vacations and every occasion worth printing a date on — each one personalized with the individual person's name, not just a shared slogan.
Shop by Occasion
Twelve listings covering the moments families actually print shirts for:
- Reunions — surname, year, and a color per branch of the family so you can see at a glance who belongs to whom.
- Christmas — the single biggest category here. First names, the year, and a line per person.
- Vacations and cruises — destination, dates, and a running joke that gets funnier every year it is reprinted.
- 4th of July — surname and year, usually in red, white and blue.
- Easter, graduations, retirements, birthdays and baby showers — the one-off milestones.
- Matching couples, mommy and me, daddy and me — the two-person version of the same idea.
Big Groups, Mixed Sizes
A family order is rarely tidy. Forty shirts across fourteen sizes, four households, two people who have not confirmed, and one relative who will join the day before. That is the normal case, and it is the case this works for.
- Sizes S through 4XL on every listing, so nobody is left out of the photo.
- Mix sizes and colors freely in one order — it is still one order.
- 15 shirts or more takes 25% off, which most reunions clear easily.
- Send the name list however you have it and we will personalize each shirt individually.
Color-Coding a Reunion
This is the trick that separates a good reunion order from a chaotic one. Give each branch of the family its own shirt color — Navy for one sibling's descendants, Moss for another, Berry for the third — with the same design printed on all of them. The group photograph organizes itself, cousins find each other without an introduction, and the shirts tell the family tree better than a printed chart would. Fifteen colors is enough for a very large family.
Print the Year. Always.
The single most common regret with family shirts is leaving the date off. A shirt that says Hernandez Family Reunion is a shirt. A shirt that says Hernandez Family Reunion • Galveston • 2026 is a record, and it is the one that survives the next decluttering. For an annual tradition it also builds a set, which is why families who started doing this in 2019 are still ordering.
Writing the Lines
The funniest family shirts are specific rather than clever. “Dad • Chief Grill Operator” beats a generic slogan. Giving each person a title — the organizer, the one who books everything, the one who arrives last — gets more laughs than any stock design, because only your family knows why it is funny. For children, name plus age plus year works, and reprinting it annually turns into a genuinely good photo series.
Christmas, and Why It Is Different
Christmas is the largest single occasion in this collection and the one with the tightest deadline, so it is worth planning differently from the rest. Two patterns work. The first is pajama-style matching for the morning photograph: same design, same color, everybody including the dog's human. The second is the Christmas-dinner version, where each person gets a different line — the one who carves, the one who complains about the carving, the one who falls asleep by four. The second ages better, because the joke is about the family rather than the holiday.
Either way, put the year on. A family that has been printing Christmas shirts since 2021 has a shelf of them, and the only thing that makes 2021's different from 2024's is the four digits on the hem.
Vacations, Cruises and Travel
Travel shirts earn their place for a reason beyond the photograph: in an airport, a cruise terminal or a theme park, a family in matching colors is a family that can be counted at a glance. Print the destination and the dates, and add each person's name large enough to be read — it doubles as a reassurance for younger children. Cruise groups often go further and print the ship and the sailing date, which makes the shirt instantly recognizable to the other families on board who did the same thing.
Ordering Ahead of the Date
Shirts arrive 6 to 11 business days after you approve your proof, so the printing is never the bottleneck — collecting everyone's size is. Start the list three weeks out. For Christmas, order by the last week of November; for a summer reunion, order once the final headcount settles rather than waiting for the stragglers, and add the latecomers as a second small order. There is no minimum, so a follow-up order of three shirts is perfectly normal.
Sizes, Pricing and Printing
Soft ring-spun cotton, classic unisex fit, fifteen colors, S through 4XL. Pricing is one rate for S through XL with a small step up for 2XL and above. Flat $4.75 shipping per order, free over $50. Every shirt is printed in the USA and a free proof goes out before printing — which on a forty-shirt family order means spelling mistakes get caught once rather than forty times. One note worth knowing in advance: sizes start at adult S, so for small children a size S wears long and loose.
