Eight ways to put your animal on a shirt. Every custom pet shirt here is printed to order with your own dog or cat — their photo, their name, their breed, or all three.

Which One Do You Actually Want?

The choice comes down to one question: do you want your specific animal, or do you want the breed? They are different products and they suit different people.

• Photo portrait shirts — the Custom Dog Face Shirt and Custom Cat Shirts use your actual photograph. Unmistakably your animal, down to the one crooked ear. Best when the shirt is for the owner or for someone who knows the animal.
• Breed shirts — French Bulldog, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Pug, Husky and Maine Coon each get their own listing with breed-specific artwork and your pet's name added. Best as a gift when you do not have a usable photo, or when you want something that reads cleanly from across a room.
• Name-only shirts — just the name and a line like “Dog Mom” or “Cat Dad”, set in clean type. The most wearable option if you work somewhere a full-color dog face would raise eyebrows.

Getting a Photo That Prints Well

This is where most custom pet shirts go wrong, so it is worth two minutes before you order. A print is far less forgiving than a phone screen.

• Daylight beats flash. A window-lit photo has detail in the fur. Flash flattens a black dog into a silhouette and gives cats mirror eyes.
• Send the original file. A photo re-saved from Instagram or screenshotted from a message has already lost most of its detail. Email the file straight off your phone instead.
• Fill the frame. Your dog twenty feet away on a lawn becomes a smudge when cropped and enlarged. Close enough to count whiskers is about right.
• Dark animals need light backgrounds. A black cat against a dark sofa has nothing for the print to separate. Shoot against a wall or a window.

If your photo will not hold up, we tell you before we print rather than after. That is what the free proof is for, and it is the reason we would rather you upload the imperfect photo than not order at all.

Memorial Shirts

A meaningful share of these orders are for an animal who has died, and they deserve a word of their own. Add the name with the years — Biscuit, 2009–2024 — or a line that only the family will understand. Old photographs usually work better than people expect; a scanned print from fifteen years ago has plenty of information in it. If the only picture you have is blurry or damaged, send it anyway and we will tell you honestly what can be done with it.

Gifts, and the Timing of Them

Pet shirts are bought as gifts more often than for the buyer, which changes what matters. Sizing is the usual problem: if you are not sure, our shirts run as a classic unisex fit, and most people would rather receive one size too big than one too small. The other problem is the photo — getting a good picture of someone else's dog without spoiling the surprise usually means asking a family member rather than scrolling your own camera roll.

Common occasions: a new puppy or kitten, a “gotcha day” anniversary, Mother's or Father's Day for the person who refers to the dog as their child, and birthdays for anyone whose photo library is ninety percent animal.

Sizes, Colors and What It Costs

Everything in this collection comes in fifteen colors and sizes S through 4XL. Dark shirts — Black, Espresso, Graphite, Midnight, Navy — make light-colored animals pop and hide shedding better. Light shirts — Ivory, White, Bay, Sage — suit black and dark-brown animals, which otherwise disappear into the fabric. The free proof shows your design on the exact color you chose, so you do not have to guess.

Pricing is one rate for S through XL with a small step up for 2XL and above, which covers the extra fabric. Shipping is a flat $4.75 per order and free on orders over $50, and orders arrive within 6 to 11 business days of approving your proof. There is no minimum — one shirt is a perfectly normal order here — and 15 shirts or more takes 25% off, mixed sizes and colors welcome.

How the Order Works

Pick a shirt, choose your color and size, upload your photo and type any text you want on it. We lay the design out by hand, clean up and color-correct the image, and email you a mock-up of the finished shirt. Ask for as many changes as you need. Nothing is printed until you say it looks right, and everything is printed in the USA.
