Privacy policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Your Custom Tees operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a shopping experience (the "Services"). Your Custom Tees is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using and accessing any of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here.

Personal information we collect or process

When we use the term "personal information," we are referring to information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. Personal information does not include information that is collected anonymously or that has been de-identified. We may collect or process the following categories, depending on how you interact with the Services and where you live:

  • Contact details including your name, billing address, shipping address, phone number and email address.
  • Financial information including payment card details, transaction details, form of payment and payment confirmation. Card numbers are processed by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
  • Account information including your username, password, preferences and settings.
  • Transaction information including the items you view, add to your cart, purchase, return, exchange or cancel, and your past orders.
  • Artwork and personalization content including photographs, images, logos, names, dates and other text you upload or send us to be printed. This is covered in more detail in its own section below.
  • Communications with us including the content of emails, contact form submissions and support enquiries.
  • Device information including your device, browser, network connection, IP address and other unique identifiers.
  • Usage information including how and when you interact with or navigate the Services.

Customer artwork and uploaded images

Because we print personalized products, many customers send us photographs that matter a great deal to them — family pictures, images of children, photographs of people who have died, and personal or business artwork. We treat these with particular care, and this section explains exactly what happens to them.

What we do with your files

We use the artwork you send only to prepare your design proof and produce your order. A member of our team views and edits the image for that purpose. We do not analyse your images for any other reason, and we do not sell them.

Who sees them

Your files are seen by our design and production team, and by the printing partner who produces your order. Our printing partner receives only what is needed to print the item. Files may also pass through the hosting and storage providers we use to run the business.

How long we keep them

We retain uploaded artwork and approved proofs for up to 24 months after your order is delivered. We keep them for that period so we can reprint a damaged or faulty item, honour a reorder without asking you to send the file again, and resolve any dispute about what was approved. After that period we delete them from our active systems. Copies may persist in routine backups for a limited further period before being overwritten.

Marketing

We will not use your order, your photographs or your artwork in our portfolio, on this website, or on social media unless you have given us permission. If we would like to feature something we made for you, we will ask, and you are free to say no. Saying no has no effect on your order.

Asking us to delete your files

You can ask us to delete your uploaded artwork at any time by emailing Support@yourcustomtees.com with your order number. We will delete it from our active systems and confirm when it is done. If you ask us to delete files while an order is still in production, we may not be able to complete that order.

Images of other people

If you send us a photograph containing someone other than yourself, you are responsible for having their permission, as set out in our Terms of Service. If you are sending an image of a child, we assume you are their parent or guardian or have that person's consent.

Where we get personal information

  • Directly from you when you create an account, place an order, upload artwork, or communicate with us.
  • Automatically through the Services from your device, and through cookies and similar technologies.
  • From our service providers when they collect or process personal information on our behalf.
  • From our partners or other third parties.

How we use your personal information

  • Providing and improving the Services. To perform our contract with you, process payments, prepare your proof, fulfil your order, arrange shipping, handle returns and exchanges, manage your account, and respond to you.
  • Marketing and advertising. To send marketing communications by email where you have agreed to receive them, and to show you online advertisements. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
  • Security and fraud prevention. To authenticate your account, provide a secure payment experience, and detect or investigate fraudulent, illegal or malicious activity.
  • Communicating with you. To provide customer support and maintain our business relationship with you.
  • Legal reasons. To comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal process, and enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms or policies.

How we disclose personal information

In certain circumstances we may disclose your personal information to third parties for legitimate purposes, including:

  • With Shopify, and with vendors and other third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as IT management, payment processing, printing and fulfilment, data analytics, customer support, cloud storage and shipping.
  • With business and marketing partners who provide marketing services and advertise to you. Our partners use your information in accordance with their own privacy notices. Depending on where you live, you may have a right to tell us not to share information about you for targeted advertising. You can exercise that right here.
  • When you direct, request or otherwise consent to disclosure to a third party.
  • In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy; to comply with legal obligations including subpoenas and search warrants; to enforce our terms or policies; and to protect or defend the Services, our rights, and the rights of our users or others.

Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve them. Information you submit will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify, and with third parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside. We also use certain Shopify enhanced features that incorporate data obtained from your interactions with our store, with other merchants and with Shopify. In those circumstances Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information, including responding to your requests to exercise your rights over it. To learn more, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy, and the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Third party websites and links

The Services may link to websites operated by third parties. If you follow those links, review their privacy and security policies and other terms. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, or the accuracy of information found on them. Our inclusion of a link does not by itself imply endorsement.

Children's data

The Services are not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with their personal information, contact us using the details below and we will delete it. As of the date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we "share" or "sell" personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

Note that photographs of children supplied by an adult placing an order are covered in the artwork section above.

Security and retention of your information

No security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security." Information you send to us may not be secure while in transit. We recommend you do not use unsecure channels to send us sensitive or confidential information.

How long we retain your personal information depends on whether we need it to maintain your account, provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Order records are generally retained for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Uploaded artwork is retained as described above.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. These rights are not absolute, may apply only in certain circumstances, and in some cases we may decline a request as permitted by law.

  • Right to access or know. To request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to delete. To request that we delete personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to correct. To request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right of portability. To receive a copy of your personal information and ask us to transfer it to a third party, in certain circumstances and with certain exceptions.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising. You can exercise this here. If you visit our website with the Global Privacy Control signal enabled, we will treat that as an opt-out request for that device and browser, and will apply it to your account where we can associate the two. Other than Global Privacy Control, we do not recognise other "Do Not Track" signals.
  • Managing communication preferences. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link. We may still send non-promotional emails about your account or your orders.

You may exercise any of these rights by contacting us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them. We may need to verify your identity first, as permitted or required by law. You may designate an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf; we will require proof of that authorisation and may need to verify your identity directly.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we process your personal information, contact us using the details below. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to appeal our decision, or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

International transfers

We may transfer, store and process your personal information outside the country you live in. If we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or an equivalent issued by the relevant UK authority, unless the destination country has been determined to provide an adequate level of protection.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised policy on this page, update the "Last updated" date, and provide notice as required by law.
